It’s that day of the year when the U.S showcases it’s love for the Mexican medley of flavors wrapped up in a tortilla flour. It’s the National Burrito Day!

National Burrito Day is celebrated on the first Thursday of April each year and is marked by friends and family coming together or going to a nearby Mexican joint. No wonder, social media saw huge volumes of conversations around #NationalBurritoDay.

Most Mexican food chains and food joints came up with unique offers and deals like ‘buy 1 get 1 deal’, ‘discounted entrees’ to name a few. People discussed these offers and deals on social media. Many also celebrated the day by posting their own burrito recipes on YouTube and Twitter.


Chipotle Mexican Grill (@ChipotleTweets) was the most talked about restaurant on social media. People shared how it celebrated National Burrito Day by giving its customers free delivery on orders $10 or more. Moe’s (@Moes_HQ), another Mexican food biggie, offered $5 burritos and bowls for orders placed through Moe’s app. Some also spoke about other brands, like Taco Bell (@tacobell) , which launched vegan-friendly menu in Dallas, with their 7 layer burritos being the talking point among the brand loyalists on #NationalBurritoDay.

To sum it all, the National Burrito Day saw substantial social media buzz.
